Présentation de l’entreprise

Genoskin is a Contract Research Organization (CRO) and supplier of human skin models and primary mast cells, transforming non-clinical testing through its expertise in skin biology and immunology. Founded in 2011, the company uses donated human skin and proprietary preservation technologies to provide immunocompetent ex vivo platforms that generate human-relevant data, helping reduce reliance on animal testing and supporting New Approach Methodologies.

Genoskin’s solutions enable pharmaceutical, biotechnology, cosmetics, medical device and chemical companies to evaluate immune responses, injection-site reactions, skin toxicity and product safety with translational relevance. Combining advanced readouts such as sequencing, proteomics, imaging and expert scientific guidance, Genoskin helps customers de-risk development programs and make better decisions earlier.

In September 2025, Genoskin completed an €8 million fundraising round led by OCCTE, alongside Captech Santé, GSO Innovation and CA Toulouse 31 Initiatives, with non-dilutive financing from Bpifrance and banking partners. This funding supports international expansion, growth in Europe and Asia, increased production capacity, and facility development in France and the United States.

With R&D and production sites in Toulouse, France, and Salem, Massachusetts, Genoskin brings together about 50 employees committed to delivering robust human data and accelerating ethical, predictive and sustainable innovation.

Engagements pour le climat et/ou la biodiversité

At Genoskin, we believe scientific innovation must support more ethical, sustainable and responsible research. Since 2011, we have developed ex vivo human skin models and immunocompetent platforms that help reduce the use of animal testing while generating more predictive human data for the development of drugs, vaccines, medical devices and cosmetics.

Our activity is aligned with the international transition toward human-based New Approach Methodologies. By using donated human tissue collected through controlled ethical processes, we give new scientific value to biological material that would otherwise be discarded, while providing data that are more relevant to humans.

Beyond this scientific and ethical impact, we are progressively integrating climate and environmental considerations into our growth strategy. Our actions include optimizing laboratory processes to reduce energy consumption and waste, improving logistics between our French and US sites, developing digital and biosimulation tools to limit experimental needs, monitoring our carbon footprint, and encouraging responsible practices among employees.

Genoskin has also initiated concrete actions to promote more sustainable commuting, including an analysis of home-to-work travel and the promotion of soft mobility.

Our ambition is to grow internationally while contributing to biomedical research that is more sustainable, predictive and respectful of living systems.
